JFLP – Mitsuo Komiyama has passed away

Mitsuo Komiyama served as board member of Japan Federation of Label Printing Industries (JFLP) from 1997, and president of JFLP from 2005 to 2015

JAPAN • Mitsuo Komiyama passed away on November 14 at the age of 74. He served as board member of  Japan Federation of Label Printing Industries (JFLP) from 1997, and president of JFLP from 2005 to 2015. He contributed to the activity for JFLP such as response to environmental issues, and globalization. Mitsuo Komiyama joined the L9 meeting to promote Japanese label industry. In 2012, he hosted that meeting in Japan with fifteen delegates to make good relationship with the other global associations.

In 2012, he received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, in recognition of his significant contributions to Japanese and global label industry. He also received the Label Industry Lifetime Special Recognition Award in the same year.

Mitsuo Komiyama was born in Tokyo in 1942 and joined the Fuji Shikou Co (currently Lintec Corporation) in 1965. After working in Fuji Shikou’s sales department, he established Mimasu Seal Printing in 1981 which became MSP Incorporated in 2005. He served as MSP’s CEO until 2013 and expanded his business to overseas in Philippines and Thailand.
